Chemical manufacturing, chemical processing, metal processing and surface finishing processes depend on corrosive chemical fluids that must be heated, cooled and condensed. Surface finishing and pickling requires aggressive chemicals and an optimal bath temperature. In this environment, heat exchangers made of metal corrode, scale and foul, resulting in increased maintenance downtime, reduced heat transfer efficiency, and shorter service life. Graphite and glass heat exchangers also foul, and are highly vulnerable to being compromised by mechanical and thermal shock.
