AMETEK Fluoropolymer Products, is comprised of a number of products aimed at serving High Temperature, High Purity, and Highly-Corrosive Applications.

In 1932, Continental Diamond Fiber purchased the American rights to manufacture the new HAVEG material. In 1933, production started at a factory site in Marshallton, DE, on the outskirts of Wilmington, DE. During the ensuing years, HAVEG expanded its activities, manufacturing products from a wide range of plastics.

From 1955 through 1981, Haveg went through a number of ownership situations, ranging from an independent on the New York Stock exchange to a subsidiary of Hercules Inc. In 1980 Haveg was acquired by AMETEK and included in the Chemical Products Division.

In 2003, the Haveg business experienced a massive flood which led to the relocation of the business to Nesquehoning, PA. The new business operates as AMETEK Fluoropolymer Products, indicating its focus on Fluoropolymer Heat exchangers and tubing. The Haveg component and Siltemp textile product lines were discontinued at this time.

Today, Fluoropolymer Products specializes in high temperature, high purity, and highly corrosion resistant products to serve the chemical processing, metalworking, semiconductor, aerospace, and other industrial applications. Its core products are based on Fluoropolymers, silica and phenolic resins and are marketed under the following trade names:

• Fluoropolymer Heat Exchangers
• Fluoropolyer Tubing
• Havaflex^TM Ablative Products
• Flexsil^® Molten Metal Filters
